Hello from Andorra! You might need a map to find this country as it is extremely small. Still, counsidering it is smack in the middle of the Pyrenees mountains it still takes a long time to pedal uphill, which is what we will be doing here in a few days to make it over the 2,500 meter tall pass into France. Everyone here looks at us like we are crazy.
The last two weeks have brought us to Barcelona to stay with an old friend Jason Hershberger and his fiance Christina, a short train ride with the bikes to the town of Girona, a lost camera (my fault), several days of riding these amazing bike trails along old railroad tracks in the foothills of the Pyrenees, and one long amazing ride along the mountains through old Catalon towns of Gosol, Saldes, La Pobla de Lillet, Ripoll, Sany Joan de Les Abadesses, and Olot. Lots of tall cols and passes to cross for a few days... If you get a chance you should ¨google¨some of these towns listed above and check them out. We´d post some pictures but me having forgotten to pick up the camera after sitting down on a park bench in front of the river in Girona has has precluded that... Seriously though, we haved loved Northern Spain. This Catalon region is a great place to cycle. Great food, wine, roads, camping, medieval villages, and high mountains.
Barcelona was amazing as well. Jason and Christina were great hosts and showed us the sights, bars, restaurants, tienda, cactus gardens and beaches of this great city. We spent 5 days sleeping, eating, drinking cava sangria, eating squid ink paella, doing laundry and just relaxing. Many thanks! And congrats and the upcoming Marriage in the Cuyahoga Valley.
On to Andorra... Well we heard that due to tax reasons, Andorra is the place to shop as the prices are very cheap and the selection huge. It was not quite Hong Kong but we bought a camera after searching around through multiple stores. So expect some pictures here soon.
